Evolution - a balance of two forces

Evolution is a balance of two opposing forces:
1. One wants diversification of life
2. Second wants the preservation of the best creature

The goal of the evolution is to produce better and better creatures with time. But new better creatures can only arise from existing best creatures. The preservation force prevents the best creature by some mechanisms which prevent mutation or the effect of mutation. The example for such mechanisms are proof reading machinery, introns, and diploid genes, etc.

On the other hand, there is an evolutionary pressure on the creature to diversify (in order to explore better life forms). This diversification force is a natural result of “survival of the fittest”, fitter the creature is better is its survival chances. Therefore, the search for fittest creature is always one.

So it is the balance of these two forces which drives evolution. This can be seen as a paradox that: Evolution wants the fittest creature, but the fitter the creature, more the difficulty in searching fittest creature. But it isn’t a paradox, it is a balance of these two forces, for if it were a paradox we(humans) wouldn’t be here to discuss this.

Immortality… do u want it?

You can follow up my discussions at dcetech.com on this topic at here.

Do give your comments… the discussion is very interesting and thought provoking….

What if terrorists become immortal?

One thing which I haven’t thought out… and it struck me this evening.. What are we going to do with the OSAMA-BIN-LADENs and other deadly terrorists and anti-social elements who will or can attain immortality… They wont die then, what are we going to do then…… How in this world are we going to eliminate them?

And what about wars? Will they be energy based wars(harming national distribution of common entities like electricity , water, internet, etc) instead of being human based??

I think once we attain global “Immortality” i.e. no one dies… The very significance of human life disappears… What will take its place will be “pleasure in living”.

As terrorists become immortal, so will the people whom they are targeting… so the very target of terrorists(human life) will change to something else… Maybe destroying power grid or blasting satellites… or something else….

What do you think, ppl, about this issue?

INDO-PAK Tension

Click the title to view the poem….
We were one,
Since 1947, we began to run,
For reason was none.
Because some selfish persons wanted to lead, Partitioned us because of their greed,
At that time a little unity among us was in need. 50 years of independence,
The situation is still so tense,
Though we have created a fence.
We are forgetting that we have same origin, But, we have become enemies due to difference in the religion, Which in turn resulted in partition.
Someone please do something,
Because this tension can lead to anything,
And we will be left with nothing.

Bored

Alone in the house
Searching for a task to do
Like a lonely hole with lonely mouse
Please give him cheese to chew

Seconds crawling like hours
Where to go, how to wait?
Its like I’m behind the bars
It’s now hard to tolerate.

Waiting for someone
Yet to come
As I am with no one
Banging my head like a drum

As I finish this
Now I will be free
Because I have a wish
Oh God! please send somebody to me.

Morals and ethics….

Well who exactly decides morals and ethics??? Do parents/senior people or you won brain decides what is wrong and what is right?

According to me, it is MY OWN BRAIN who decides what must be moral and ethical. After all, if you doesn’t, then who. Other people may be wrong too and the community or public isn’t right always. One must not impose morals onto anyone…..

Every human has a marvelous thinking machine called BRAIN. This is what distinguishes him from a doggy or a shark… who have no ethics……
We can use our brain to to guess the results the action of our actions THEN why other people tell us what our ethics must be….

No two sets of ethics are same….. Every person considers the world from his point of view… So should he act according to popular opinion or his own verdict……..

Queries to the almighty

Click the title to read the poem…
The so called God
Who are you?
Come down to earth
Open up the mysteries

How we came?
When we came?
How’ll go?
When’ll go?

Who made us?
Have you made us?
If yes, how?
If not, why not?

Given more brains
to humans
than animals, why?
Isn’t it a partiality

Had you any choice in making us
and universe
If yes, who gave you this choice?
If not, why not?

God started
the civilizations
Or Civilizations
made the God

From where you came?
Now, where to go?
What are your further plans?
Fate or Origin

Origin was great
Worse will be Fate
Why God will
want to destroy us?

God is almighty
He will do for universe’s benefit
Whether to fate this life
or to Origin a new one.

Multicellular organisms

I asked one question today which, even, my teacher couldn’t answer properly. My question was : “All the cells from a multicellular organism is derived from a single cell therefore they have exactly same genes. Then, how come cells take up specialized tasks. Such as neurons behave differently than skin cells even though both have exactly same genes.”

I know that some genes activate while some deactivate in stages from zygote to adult. But how exactly it is done? Is there any external influences?

To be precise: “How do stem cells know when to specialize and what type of cell it has to become?”
