Fences of the mind

Below is the poem written by my friend, Aakanksha Gaur [aakanksha {dot} gaur {at} gmail {dot} com]].

Fences of the mind
Have you ever heard the songs of silence?
Ever seen the pains of violence?
Have you seen the spirit divine?
Ever heard the flocking ravine?

Everything that’s so sublime,
Can free your senses,
Can break the fences,
The fences of your mind..

Ever touched the joy of love?
Ever smelled the feathers of dove?
Have you ever touched the sensuous smoke?
Ever smelled the mischievous joke?

Everything that’s so sublime,
Can free your senses,
Can break the fences,
The fences of your mind..

Have you ever felt a summer night,?
Ever tasted the sun bright?
Ever felt a leaf unfolding
Tasted a death that life is holding???

Everything that’s so sublime,
Can free your senses,
Can break the fences,
The fences of your mind..

I hope everyone understands the deep meaning hidden inside the simple-looking lines.

The Purpose of Life

Oh my humble followers, today I give you the greatest truth of all time. No saint, no leader, no visionary has known it. But today you will be among the selected few who will know the real truth of life. I know you have been looking here and there for the meaning of life, which tons have professed to be knowing. But those tons of people were wrong. They didn’t know a bit. I KNOW THE REAL PURPOSE OF LIFE.

So, are you ready to swallow the real thing. I warn you: you might not accept it as the truth as it is so deceptively simple. Nevertheless, here it is:

“The sole purpose of life is to kill boredom”

Now, I won’t explain why it is so. But if you think hard enough on it, from all possible angles, you will see that it is indeed the real truth.. :)

Does your house number starts with number “1″?

“Does your house address start with a 1? According to a strange mathematical law, about 1/3 of house numbers have 1 as their first digit. The same holds true for many other areas that have almost nothing in common: the Dow Jones index history, size of files stored on a PC, the length of the world’s rivers, the numbers in newspaper’s front page headlines, and many more.”

See this article detailing this strange law.
